- MW- molecular weight
- Sol- The solubility in water when measured in percent by weight is at 68 degrees Fahrenheit
- UEL- The upper explosive level, or flammable, limit within in the air, measured in percent by volume
- LEL- The lower explosive level, or flammable, limit within the air, measured in percent by volume
- BP- The boiling point at one atmosphere measured in degrees Fahrenheit
- Fl.P- The flash point in degrees Fahrenheit when tested within in a closed cup apparatus
- VP- The vapor pressure at 68 degrees Fahrenheit when measured in millimeters of mercury
- IP- The potential of ionization of electron volts
- FRZ- The point of freezing for gases and liquids in degrees Fahrenheit
- MLT- The point of melting for solids in degrees Fahrenheit
- RGasD- The relative density of gases when referenced to the air, indicating how gas Is heavier than the air within the same temperature
- MEC- The minimum explosive concentration when measured in cubic meters whenever possible
- Sp.Gr- The specific gravity of water at 39.2 degrees Fahrenheit
These abbreviations are used within the NIOSH Pocket Guide to Chemical Hazards to help keep those working with the chemicals safe at all times.
