- An Automatic Sprinkler System should always be properly maintained and have adequate water supply. This is mandatory so your sprinkler system will be ready to suppress a fire. Water supply pressure deficiency is often a major contributor to catastrophic warehouse fires. Often warehouse sprinkler systems depend on automatic fire pumps for adequate water supply flow and pressure. Without properly functioning fire pumps, your sprinkler system will not control or suppress a fire. - Fire Detection and Notification Cannot Be Delayed. Usually the sprinkler system is the first automatic fire detection tool that will alert warehouse workers that a fire is happening in the warehouse. For immediate fire detection, the water flow switch should be connected to your warehouse’s local fire alarm control panel and that fire alarm control panel should be monitored by the remote central station service. The central station service job is to call the fire department immediately if a fire alarm signals in the warehouse.
