How could Fire Suppression Systems protect my Construction Site from A 6 Alarm Fire?

A massive 6-alarm happened in San Francisco on Tuesday March the 11th. Fortunately, San Francisco Firefighters were able to contain the massive blaze at the construction site. It took 150 firefighters to get the fire under control at the China Basin area of San Francisco. It can be very challenging to get a construction site fire under control. If you are managing a construction project, how will you protect your construction site from a massive fire?

Ideally you will want to have fire suppression systems installed as soon as possible at the construction site. The San Francisco Fire Department faced difficulties exhausting the massive six-alarm fire because the construction site lacked fire suppression systems of water sprinklers and portable fire extinguishers that can help put fires out.

It is important to utilize fire suppression systems at commercial facilities (even when under construction) to prevent embers from a main fire from destroying surrounding commercial buildings. If you do experience a fire emergency, you can protect life and property the most by containing a fire within the building or origin.

In fact the right fire suppression systems can help you avoid the need to aggressively attack a fire. The goal is to stop fire flames from spreading. If you cannot safely do it on your own, you will want to have the appropriate fire alarms and fire suppression systems designed and installed for your facility.

Fireline Corporation is here to not only protect your property and building occupants from fire hazards but also offer you cost-effective fire safety solutions.

Just this month Fire Corporation President Anna Gavin recently attended the Annual meeting of the Fire Suppression Systems Alliance (FSSA) where she served as the Vice Chair to the Installers Division.FSSA is an organization of manufacturers and installers of special hazard fire suppression systems who dedicate themselves to improving the quality of the industry.  Various topics were addressed at this year’s meeting such as petrochemical, oil and gas opportunities in the marketplace and clean agent reclamation and recycling.  A mini-symposium on combustible metals was another key focus and great presentations from fire marshals and specialists in the field were heard.  Attendees also were given a great opportunity to hear an end-user perspective on clean agents, allowing fire protection specialists insight from the other side.  At the end of the meeting Ms. Gavin was nominated and elected to act as Chair of the Installers Division next year as well as sit on the 2015 Program Committee.
