Totally Integrated Protection Solutions from Fireline Corporation

Portable Fire Extinguisher Service

The number and size of portable extinguishers required is set forth in the National Fire Protection Association's Pamphlet I0, "The Standard for Portable Fire Extinguishers." Our sales people are trained to determine the building occupancy, the potential fire hazards and the anticipated class of fire before recommending the proper type and size of extinguishers required to meet codes. We make recommendations without obligations and can assure delivery from our well stocked warehouse.

Fireline strictly follows the inspection and maintenance guidelines set by fire extinguisher manufacturers and the NFPA 10 Manual that regulates them.

*Inspection Checklist In accordance with NFPA 10

  • Examination of cylinder for physical damage or tampering
  • Check of gauge for proper cylinder pressure
  • Determine fullness by weighing or hefting
  • Inspection of nozzle, valve and hose assemblies
  • Check for broken or missing seals and pull rings Note all hydrostatic test and 6-year dates
  • Record of all necessary corrective actions

Annual Service

Annual service is intended to give maximum assurance that the extinguisher will operate safely and effectivly. It includes all points covered in our inspection, and any necessary repair, replacement and/or subsequent testing. A tag or label is securely fastened identifying the individual having performed the service.

6-Year Maintenance

Every six years, stored pressure extinguishers must be emptied and subjected to a full internal inspection and applicable maintenance procedures, including a thorough examination of all mechanical parts, extinguishing agent and expellent.

HydrostaticTesting

Periodic test mandated by NFPA and the Department of Transportation (DOT) requiring highly specialized test equipment to ensure the integrity of an extinguisher or cylinder at its listed operating pressure. Dry chemical, Halon 1211and other clean agent extinguishers are to be hydrotested at 12 year intervals. High-pressure carbon dioxide extinguishers are to be tested at 5 year intervals.

Equipment Training and Fire Demonstrations

The Occupational Safety and Health Adminstration (OSHA) has mandated that if you are going to provide portable fire extinguishers and expect employees to use them, you must also provide them with training. Fireline offers comprehensive extinguisher training, both in the classroom and at live fire demonstrations, using actual equipment to extinguish the fire.
