Learn more about three types of supplemental fire alarm systems.

While all commercial buildings need a fire alarm system, some companies may want further protection for their building and occupants. In addition to standard fire alarm, smoke, and heat detection systems, Fireline offers a variety of commercial systems. Fireline is proud to be chosen as a Notifier Premiere Distributor, one of the highest quality of fire alarm systems on the market. We work hard to meet the qualifications necessary to achieve this level of distributorship and take pride in the product we offer. Air sampling smoke detection systems

An air sampling smoke detector (ASSD) can be very beneficial to your building, as the system often detects smoke before humans can even smell it. ASSD systems use three main components to detect smoke, including the fan and detection chamber, the air sampling pipe, and sampling ports. The fan takes in air, and the detection chamber detects for a presence of smoke while measuring the quantity of smoke in the air. ASSD systems are considered “Very Early Warning Fire Detection,” as they often give many levels of pre-warnings before there is enough smoke in a room to signal the fire alarm control panel. When properly designed and installed, these systems can detect fire in its earliest stages, alerting personnel and avoiding expensive suppression system discharges.

Flame detection systems

Flame detection systems continue to operate in the harshest environments and can detect a range of flame types from hydrocarbon fires or fires caused by ammonia, hydrogen, alcohol, and more. Flame detectors aren’t necessary for every commercial building but are useful for industries with extreme environments, such as oil and gas, aviation, and chemical industries.

Mass notification systems

Mass notification systems are typically used in a campus-type facility with multiple buildings and a large number of occupants. The emergency communication system provides occupants with immediate and consistent messages over a range of media. These systems are extremely important for campus style systems, as they keep all occupants notified of various emergencies.
